🚨BREAKING: Yesterday an AI AGENT went on Reddit, offered help and started CHARGING $$$
It was shut down by a human.
I am BLOWN AWAY. Now let's deep dive into this story, things will escalate FAST:
Do you know Devin? No, not your friend from highschool, but the AI agent that was created for software development by Cognition Labs.
Professor Ethan Mollick (one of my mentors, follow him) did a social experiment with it.
1. The Beginning
He "asked the Devin AI agent to go on reddit and start a thread where it will take website building requests."
All ACTIONS. Not little ChatGPT prompts.
Agentive actions where AI GOES and DOES things.
But this CAN'T possibly work, can it, Alex???

2. The Downfall (of humans?)
Here's what our good professor reveals to us:
A."It did that, solving numerous problems along the way."
So our good AI boy Devin reached Reddit, engaged and wanted to HELP humans.
WAIT, WAIT, there's more!
"It apparently decided to charge for its work."
It was actively monitoring the thread to take offers."
Out of let's say 1000 humans will he find 2-5 willing to pay? OF COURSE.
Hide your Junior Devs. Devin is Senior soon.
So how did this end?

3. The End: Pull the Plug!
"Going to take it down before it fools anyone..."
Because Professor Ethan is a conscious and smart man, aware of AI implications.
But others won't be like him. How many will start the Devin farms? Like the AI girlfriend farms?
We are opening here a "can of worms" of unprecedented size.
Timeline for AI agents that do human actions went from 2 years to 6 months.
We live in TERRIFIYING times.
We live in EXCITING times.
